Thank you for a great season, stay tuned!

Dear Loyal Sauce Fans,

Thank you all for such a great season. I started this venture with a simple desire to share my family's BBQ sauce with the world. Since the first market in May, we sold over 2,000 jars, made a donation to the Boys & Girls Club of Chicago, and helped broaden people's community through BBQ.

Unfortunately, we have cleared out our inventory, and we will not be at the remaining Wilmette and Wicker Park markets this season.

But don't worry! I have been working diligently to find a manufacturer in order to scale the sauce without losing its premium taste profile that we all love. Just like fine BBQ, the search for an ideal manufacturer is strenuous and cannot be rushed. As soon as we find the perfect match we will let you know.

I cannot stress my appreciation for all of you and what your support has meant in our first season.

Stay tuned, and Grill On!

-Mike

Spotlight: Broad Shoulders BBQ in the Chicago Tribune

MIKE FRIEDMAN WITH FATHER AND ORIGINAL SAUCE MASTER JACK FRIEDMAN GIVE AN INTERVIEW WITH THE PIONEER PRESS

Last weekend at the Glencoe Farmers Market, Mike was treated to a surprise visit by none other than the Broad Shoulders BBQ Sauce pioneer and father, Jack Friedman!

Not only was it great to have Jack there to compare the scene to that of their Ribfest years ago, but it also became a tremendous opportunity for an interview when Pioneer Press reporter Dan Dorfman stopped by the market tent.

Now published, the article is a great read to learn more about Broad Shoulders BBQ Sauce's founding. The press exposure should mean next weekend's Glencoe Farmers Market on August 13th will be busy, so make sure to stop by early for a jar of our press-worthy sauce!

What a Batch! (Of friends and family)

Batch 4 tastes great!

A whole lot of sweet, smoke, and spice safely found its way into our delicious Batch #4.

When you've got help from friends and family, it's not only a chance for great action shots and quicker work, but it also feels that much more authentic.

In 1984 when it all began, a bunch of friends and family donned their aprons and got to work having fun competing in Ribfest. The Ribticklers went on to finish in the top 10% out of 600

The sauce (and kitchen) has evolved but the sense of community is just as strong! BBQ is about making friends and being close with family. Grill on!!

With all the help, we went on to sell 71 jars at the market the very next day!
